Absolutely not! Out On Patrol is open to everyone who meets the membership criteria and who consider themselves an ally to the 2SLGBTQ+ community.
Out On Patrol welcomes everyone, no matter what stage they are at in life. Our members understand the difficult and complicated decision to come out and appreciate the importance of confidentially. The society would never intentionally “out” someone who is not ready. A central tenet of the society is peer support, so we are here to provide a safe space and act as a resource for our members.
Although we are officially incorporated as a non-profit society within the Province of British Columbia, we are not currently registered as a charity with the Canada Revenue Agency. As a result, we are not able to issue tax receipts at this time. However, we do still welcome donations that assist in building our society and support our members and the community.
Out On Patrol welcomes applications from all over the world! Although we are currently based out of British Columbia and our events will be primarily focused in the lower mainland, we welcome members from anywhere! Your membership dues will help fund our projects and initiatives, as well as assist with future expansion opportunities. We love to connect with people who are interested in bringing Out On Patrol to other communities.
Out On Patrol is not directly involved in law enforcement matters. Please contact your local law enforcement agency if you have a criminal justice issue.
